Now, on to my first FREEBIE of the month!! For my first freebie, I am sharing a set of comprehension sticks with a graphic organizer. There are 15 comprehension review sticks with a pumpkin theme. These are great for small groups, book clubs, centers, etc. to help your kids read with a focus!! :) I printed these on card stock, laminated, cut around them, and taped them to popsicle sticks. You could leave off the popsicle sticks and use them as review cards.
Included in this set are 15 questions:
1- What is the setting of the story?
1- Who or what are the characters in the story?
1- What is the main idea of the story?
3- Name 1 detail that describes the main idea.
1- What happened in the beginning of the story?
1- What happened in the middle of the story?
1- What happened at the end of the story?
1- What is the author's purpose for writing this story?
1- What is your favorite part in the story?
1- Is this story realistic fiction or fantasy?
1- Which genre is this story?
1- What is the problem in the story?
1- What is the solution in the story?
1- Who or what are the characters in the story?
1- What is the main idea of the story?
3- Name 1 detail that describes the main idea.
1- What happened in the beginning of the story?
1- What happened in the middle of the story?
1- What happened at the end of the story?

Also included is a graphic organizer with 2 options: 1 with all lines and 1 with room to draw.

Graphic organizer charts are a common name given to charts that can illustrate facts, concept, and ideas in a way that can be understood visually. There are many graphic organizers or various purposes. T chart, y chart, mind maps, KWL charts, Venn diagrams and fishbone diagrams to name a few. Creately is an online diagramming and collaboration software which supports all graphic organizer charts. There are many templates and example of graphic organizers to be used freely as well.
